ABOUT ME

I have 2 passions in life away from the family, Golf is one and the other is Lifting.

Golf has been a life long passion, Lifting I was first introduced to in the Air Force in my twenties. But back then it was a bit more about looking good than anything else. Nothing wrong with that at all by the way. From there and few different careers come and gone through the next 20 odd years I found my self in a pretty unhealthy way.

Weighing in at over 210kgs with Type 2 Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Sleep Aponea and being only 39 years old I was scared that I would not see my 50th birthday. I decided it was time, New Years Resolution time in fact as it was in November of my 39th year. I joined Anytime Fitness Salisbury Downs, let me say this during my journey over the next 6 years losing over 80kgs, the Staff there, poeple that went to the gym and the friends I made were amazing. The community and support I got from them went a long way to helping me achieve what I have.

None of that would have been possible though unless I got out of my car at 5am on January 2nd and went in side. That was one of the scariests and most nerve racking 30mins of my life. Yes 30 minutes of willing myself to not drive home but get out of the car and go inside. So when I say I know how hard the first step is, please believe I understand.

The next few years taught me alot about myself, there were ups and downs just like all journeys. But the strength I got from this was not just in being able to lift heavier weights, not just being able to a boxing class and feel I could keep going it was the the Strength of Self I found. Yes being strong physically is great, but the strength you get from making yourself do something that is hard, then come back and do something harder knowing next time will be harder again teaches you alot about how strong you really are. You might not lift as much as some or ride a spin for as long but you can be just as strong a lifter, runner or athlete when it comes to achieving your goals. The self belief, self confidence and mental strength you get can be stronger than any of them.

I want to help you find that that strength to get out of the car, the strength in yourself, that belief and that confidence.

I belive that being strong is more than just about how much you can lift. I want you to be strong for life.

Let Me Help You Find Your Strong

Matt was very thorough and informative. He was friendly, polite and respectful. He respects your body type and range of movements and positions you can manage. Overall I would recommend this to anyone wanting to improve there strength and body type. He will listen to what you want to get out of your training and work with you to achieve your goals.

Brendon M

I thoroughly enjoy my training with Matt. Not only does he push me but also explains the exercises in detail to help me understand how they will help me
